Cant get the leds (led strip with 6 leds from laforge and also tried one with 8 from matek) to be controlled. 5v measured to be correct and using the "led" out on the board. Whenever usb is connected it seems that there are random colours produced never with the usb disconnected(from pc)
Tried with 3.1.5 and also 3.2.0 RC5
My friends are having the same issue so its not just my board.

2.) Include ways to reproduce the problem;
It is constant so fairly simple. solder led strip and configure it.. Doesn't seem to matter what mode is assigned or if aux is selected as control or arm state.. nothing.

Tried to change the resource according to what is known for some other omnibus f4's but nothing changed in behaviour.
Does it matter that motor5 for some reason seem to be using same resource as the led?

Sorry for the whole dump but I rolled back to 3.1.5 just now and only had the dump from 320 saved in txt.

The LED strip is working without any issue with genuine OMNIBUS F4 AIO (Gen 1), flashed with 3.2-RC5 and loaded with your dump, using PWM5.

I consider it as a board specific problem, probably due to power supply level being too high. Try reducing the voltage by inserting an inline diode. A popular 1N4148 will do.

Hi,
I have kind of the same problem with the same board running BF 3.2.
The led strip works fine at the beginnning, but after a minute or so they start to flicker with random color.
I can always turn on or off through AUX channel.

Have you manage to find a solution ? I guess it may be temperature related, because if I unplug and re-plug immediatly, the led still flicker. But when plugged for the first time (board at room temperature), led works for a moment.

I know it's not a betaflight relevant problem, but since the discusion has started here ..

I suspect the supply voltage to the LED strip being too high.
Try inserting inline diode to the power supply line to drop half to full volt.
Any decent diode with enough current rating will do.
Note that each of these RGB LEDs consume 60mA at the most a piece.

Most builders believe the correct supply voltage to these WS2811 and compatible RGB LED is 5V, but this isn't true. Actually, it depends on the voltage swing of the control signal line, in the way that "Power supply voltage may not exceed 1.43 times the high voltage of the signal line". Signal line voltage in our case is 3.3V. This makes the highest voltage of the power supply line being 3.3 x 1.43 = 4.71V.

If power supply voltage exceeds this figure, then behavior of LED strip becomes unpredictable, and gets even more unpredictable as temperature of the device goes up.

we tried many things with that fc and it seem that using more than 3 leds is not working(eventhough they have diodes and inline resistors to control the voltage) limited by deadline for the event I ditched using the BF control and used the laforge vtx to control all leds instead. and my friends went for battery powered single colour leds instead.

can it be that the control signal is shaky cause of not stable voltage(?) dunno. dont have the equipment to check either :/

Inline resistors? On the power line?? Then you will have problems the more LEDs you a feeding.
Only a diode is needed.

Where did you get this information about max Vdd ? I can't find it in the datasheet of the WS2812B LED.

Electrical characteristics, Input voltage level high.

It states

VIHmin >= 0.7VDD

@JR555SE I seem to be having the same problem. If I understand you correctly the diode is to be placed from FC 5V to led strip 5V. Correct?

Yes, that correct. With the cathode of the diode soldered on the LED strip side.

Update to all with the same problem. I was able to solve it and indeed it involves the amount of voltage.
My quad puts out 5.3 volts. By adding a diode it came down to 4.94 volts. Not the ideal of 4.71 volts but it seems to work properly on the bench.
