Would this be a good time for a 30 minute meeting to review the current github
issues and plan for the next two weeks?

I think it would be useful to have a tentative agenda before we begin the
meeting. Here are my suggestions:

  • Finalise members of the core team
  • Decision about non-profit organisation
  • Discuss which issues are v0.9 and v1.0
  • Current next immediate steps

Another point is versioning. (In my opinion we should not delete older major versions of a document.)

Attending

Skype conference call with:

Core team

We discussed the idea of having a core team (Issue #44). @avilella tentatively
agreed as long as he has time available. @pbelmann agreed and thought @fungs
would agree too. We agreed to have a fifth team member yet to be decided. Core
team is therefore as follows:

Non-profit organisation

Bioboxes would benefit from being a non-profit organisation as this would allow
us to manage money, for example to pay for people to attend conferences. We
agreed that @avilella will guide the process (Issue #39) because he has already
make a great deal of research on the subject. @michaelbarton assigned #39 to
@avilella as the lead on this. @vilella indicated that he is leaning towards
founding a UK charity, however there is no immediate rush.

BOSC

We briefly discussed the details of presenting the bioboxes standard at BOSC
2015
. Ideally we would like the core team to meet in person at this
event. The abstract submission deadline is April 3, 2015. @michaelbarton
created issue #52 for tracking developments relating to this.

Common workflow language

@vilella mentioned the Common Workflow Language working group. As they
are using containers there may intersect with bioboxes.

Retain all major versions of containers

@pbelmann suggested that we all keep major versions of the specs. The reason
for the suggestion was the developers might like to see when specs have changed
and compare between versions.

Current biweekly goals

Next meeting is scheduled for Thu Feb 28 16:30 in issue #53.

Is the next meeting on Thu Feb 26, or Sat Feb 28? (I assume the former.)

I updated the next meeting (#53) with the correct date.
