BIRCC

Introduction

bircc is an ANSI C compiler under development written in plain C. It has the explicit goal of being reusable in other projects.

Goals

  • Easy to reuse, provide bircc.h interface and libbircc library.

  • The best possible C programming experience. Be as helpful as possible to the C programmer.

  • First focus on Linux platform, but make it cross-platform by default. No need to compile a cross-compiler, the compiler can compile to binaries for any supported platform with a simple switch or environment option.

Implemented Features

  • Trigraphs. Ho hum.

Building

  • Bircc requires the CLAD library at http://github.com/bjorndm/clad. Compile and install that first.

  • Bircc uses cmake build system for now, until it becomes self-hosting. So just say cmake ; make
