Discussions

• We met face to face on CMPE couches. Ahmet Burak and Taha couldn't make it and Berkay joined us through Discord.
• Importance of tracking issues were stated and those who forgot to close issues even though they were completed was kindly reminded to check them more regularly.
• We talked about creating a project timeline for planning was strongly suggested in problem sessions by teaching assistants. Also a timeline should be created for our project as well before milestone, since it is a deliverable. Kristina suggested ProjectLibre could be used for that purpose and volunteered to learn to use ProjectLibre and create a timeline with it.
• We stated that we will also need mockup for mobile user interfaces by the feedback from the instructor. We decided distinct separation for mobile platforms such as Android or iOS is not necessary for this point and a generalized mobile pages will do for now.
• We discussed about reconstructing sub-teams. Instead of forming groups as mockup, elicitation and requirements; we decided to form groups different functionalities of the application. This enables all of us to learn and implement every stage of a planning in a software development process. The groups for requirements and mockup designs are as followed:

  • Feed : Kristina, Halil
  • Search Results / Explore : Eray, Mutti
  • Route Creation : Yiğit Kağan, Özgür
  • Route Details : Ceylin, Taha

• We decided to use Figma for collaborative progress in design. Everyone should sign up with their university mail address and then verify their education account to access professional features for free.
• To use Wikidata API and linked data effectively, we can display nearby locations when a location is searched as suggestions and get the information from Wikidata. Also we discussed about including Wikidata of historical people related to places. We left this decision for later.
• We talked about mockup scenarios and what should it look like. Then give responsibilities to write scenarios about their design areas to Emin, Ceylin, Yiğit Kağan, Özgür, Mutti and Eray.
• We discussed how to design and display search results. We decided to separate the Routes and Accounts categories while searching.
• We reviewed our first customer meeting with our instructor, Suzan. Based on the provided feedback, we decided to make users edit their profiles in registration process and add a selection page for interested fields -displayed in labels- at beginning. This would prevent users to get a cold start and come up with an empty feed at beginning.
• We postponed personally customized explore section under the search bar for now since it would be too complex to implement at first.
