Editor

Editor adds little Edit buttons next to each of your entries, right on your website. Click on one of them, and that entry's Edit page will open in a new window.

It is developed by Brandon Kelly.

Installation

  1. Download and unzip the latest version
  2. Upload extensions/ext.editor.php to system/extensions
  3. Upload language/english/lang.editor.php to system/language/english
  4. Enable Editor in the Extensions Manager

Configuration

From Editor's Settings page, you can set the following preferences:

Control Panel index page URL?

Unfortunately, ExpressionEngine doesn’t make it easy for an extension to determine where your Control Panel is located, so this setting is crucial.

Check for Editor updates?

Powered by LG Addon Updater, Editor can call home and check to see if there's a new update available.

Usage

Once Editor is installed and activated, you should be good to go. Simply view your website while logged in with an account that has editing privileges, and the edit buttons will automagically appear.

Requirements

Editor requires ExpressionEngine 1.6 or later.
