WhatsApp web does not work on iOS -- suggests upgrading Safari or using different browser

Description:

If you try and login to the WhatsAppWeb app on whatsapp.com, the site will not render, and instead suggests that you "Upgrade Safari" or use Chrome/FF/another browser:

Steps to Reproduce

1. Visit WhatsApp.com on iOS device
2. Attempt to use the WhatsAppWeb feature (located in site menu)

Actual result:

Expected result:
Should be able to use the website version of the app.
