Protected means exposing a method as an extension point, which we don't necessarily need/want here.
Per the serverless documentation: "This path is relative to the root directory of the service." This needs to be adjusted to be working with Bref, this can be done later as I first want a version that works.
That will let us set environment variables for `bref local` later.
