Reported by some users of 2021.02.14 as well as current beta 2021.03.28-RC:

After a while of using the map I am no longer able to tap any cache icon (no reaction on tap). Only restart of the map or even c:geo (not sure) solves the problem until it appears again at some point in time.

All users reporting this are using Google Maps.

This is only reported rarely, so either it affects only some devices or Android versions or certain combination of settings.
I could not reproduce up to now.

Might be related to #8444

Addon:
After looking through the related support tickets again it seems all of the users are using Google Maps Satellite maps. Might be a coincidence though as I was not able to find all historic tickets to doublecheck.

Coming back to this one:

Recently again three users claimed similar effects. One user tested it more in depth and reported the following, which might be helpful to track down this issue:

  • It only happens if I use Google Sat sometimes also on Google Street, never on OSM
  • Best chance to reproduce is, when you put c:geo into background while the live map is opened (e.g. to check your mails) then return to c:geo
  • In this case the map is still as I left it but cache icons are no longer tapable, nothing happens
  • Interesting enough: In such cases I can still tap on Adventure Labs and the popup opens normally, just all other caches/waypoints do not react
  • To make it work again I have to leave the map and open it again

I tried yesterday evening to reproduce this, but whatever I tried i was not successful in reproducing it.

Anyone any idea from the code why it happens for all icons except adventure labs. I though this could be helpful to track down the problem?!
