The project hasn't been updated for more than a year now. There are some pending pull requests that are extremely useful to the project, and I also plan to contribute.

I believe it would be the best to create a fork for people to continue development, and if we hear again from the developer, we discuss how we should move on by them?

What do you think?

I am not sure I can do much here. I reviewed #222.

It's unfortunate. I was planning on making more features such as the ability to queue wallpapers (including videos). The mute playback and pausing are pretty much essential for the video aspect of this program.

I would agree to the fork and was about to propose it myself in the comments for this until I read that. It might be worth, instead, just making a separate repo altogether (not a fork).

I think I missed the argument for making a new repo rather than forking. Why would we make a separate repo? But yeah, whatever happens, it would be great to breathe some life into this.

My idea was to begin as a fork, and start implementing more features, bugfixing, etcetera, since in the beginning, they are likely easier to merge to the base branch/project if desired. If, after some time, we see no response/feedback from the developer and/or the project has diverged too much from the base, we can make the fork it's own project, and encourage people to use the new version instead.

Again, this is my idea if the developer shows no action; if we get a response early on, then it would be best to do development on the base project and improve it then.

I agree with that, we should fork it and work there for now.

Alright, in that case, I suggest continuing development on @Arham4's fork; from what I have seen it looks like the most developed PR right now, and other features (such as @Kangie and @leognutzmann's PR) are easily backported there.

What do you think @Arham4 ?

Sounds good to me. I'd appreciate if someone can volunteer to administrate the fork with me just in case of any absence on my part.

Maybe it's better to make the org as it can have multiple administrators. I have run into problems in other projects because of this. Anyway, I think @ev1lbl0w should be up to do it.

Ok, I went ahead and made an organization, and sent the invites to all the people participating in this thread/issue

Nice to see the project alive. I myself forked the project some time ago aiming to develop it further. I'm currently working on converting the wallpaper creator to use .ui XML files for the UI definition and to make it's code a bit more modern. I have some sort of a vision of how I'd like the app to look like and when I have some time I'd like to put together at least some mockups.

I think for now I'll continue my own development in my fork and possibly create a PR in your fork.
