Bing-Wallpaper-for-ChromeOS

Chrome extension that downloads daily picture from Bing and sets as Chromebook wallpaper. ChromeOS only!

Why

I had missed my scripts for downloading and rotating wallpapers from Bing on macOS and my collection of Bing wallpapers gathered over years.

Status

Since version 0.7 it is pre-release - works well.

TODO

• Rotate wallpapers
• Make proper options page
  • Show gallery of pictures available offline (already downloaded)
  • and let set selected as wallpaper
  • Make downloads optional
  • Allow user to choose folder for downloading wallpapers
  • Allow setting alarm's interval (checking for new wallpapers)
  • Let choose Stretch or Center options
• Fallback from file url to image origin url
• Use url as unique ID instead of hash ??
• Get file descriptions form Bing JSON or better from image EXIF
• Set minimum Chrome version in manifest.json (ES6)

FIXME

• Latest wallpaper is re-downloaded somehow options ain't saved at first. Drives me nut this bug.
