I had a bug in vscode where the region showed as "Sao Paulo" in the status bar, but the ping was 10ms so I was clearly connected to Sydney. I'm guessing this is because of a discrepancy between my client's preferred DERP and the actual DERP the client was using to connect to the agent.
If the ping was through a DERP, consider that DERP to be the "preferred DERP" in the network stat details we pass to the extension.
