We have detected that Conan might be not working properly in Python 3.8, due to some breaking changes of Python (different checksum of tgz files, for example).

We are investigating these things and trying to fix them. At the moment, it is strongly encouraged to keep using up to Python 3.7

Builds are green running Python 3.8 in CI.

Seems mostly good. However, issue #6173 remains open for 1.23, so delaying to close this issue until we understand better that one.

The only thing pending related to Python 3.8 is #6173. We consider Conan 1.23 to be python 3.8 ready now.
