Known Issues: Podman Desktop 1.5.2

Hey everyone!

🦭 Podman Desktop 1.5.2 is out! 🎉

Here is a list of known issues in the release. We will update this list as bugs are identified.

Onboarding:

Podman

• Rerunning requirements check for Onboarding Podman workflow does not reflect actual state #4597
• Onboarding Dashboard notification about Podman state is not updated once Podman is installed and Podman Machine created #4598
• Disabled podman extension should prevent Onboarding/Setup button on Podman resource to be available #4594

Podman Machine

• Optional options hidden in podman machine creation page on Windows and Mac after force reload #4605
• Inconsistent appearance of the setup/onboarding button on the Podman Machine Resource and wrong podman machine detection in the onboarding workflow #4599

Compose

• Compose onboarding detection is not working properly #4601
• Error: podman compose up ends up with dial tcp: lookup unix on 127.0.0.53:53: server misbehaving #4573

OpenShift Local

• Trying to start OpenShift Local throws RequestError #4611
• Not clear what are the next steps after Openshift local - CRC installation #4614
• It is not possible to switch and operate over a different OpenShift Local extension's preset/resource once it was created via Podman Desktop #4617
• Show logs button in Create Resource page shows broken log view  #4566

Extensions:

Podman

• Cannot reenable podman extension, getting Extension error: command 'podman.onboarding.installWSL' already exists #4593
• Disabled podman extension should prevent Onboarding/Setup button on Podman resource to be available #4594

General:

• Play Kubernetes Yaml
  • Using a kube manifest created by an older podman version in Play a Kubernetes Yaml shows a warning: OCI permission denied #4621

Issues not resolved since previous testing:

Kind:

• Kind cluster creation ended with error: Failed to create kind cluster. No active cluster #2795

Building an image

• Building an image adds docker.io to the beginning? #2433

Kube context

• Kube context cannot be changed and is not taken into account when Deploying to Kubernetes, new record is not propagated into kube-context in status bar #3910
