Other programs

We plan that on two days (Tuesday and Friday) will go for a social program. I (@airween) suggest that we should go to the Buda Castle for one, and a sightseeing for another day. The second day we should combine the program with some museum - see the list below, I suggest the House of Terror. If we have time, we can visit the Pinball Museum (it is in the list too).

Minimal contribution to qualify for participation as developer

In 2021 and 2021 we invited all the developers and no questions asked. But there was a discussion whether there should be a minimal contribution to qualify for the retreat. The discussion was not conclusive and we did not formally decide on anything outside of the widespread opinion that there needs to be some formal rule. The point is that we want to avoid devs feeling other devs are slacking and enjoying a free ride. I do not think the free ride is a financial problem for the project, but the feeling of slacking affects the commitment of other developers, so we need some minimal rule to underline the point we are keeping an eye on contributions.

We discussed the question again among the leaders (full transparency: @walter remained silent for this discussion) and we decided the following: We ask all devs participating to add a brief statement of their contribution to the project since the last dev retreat. There is a separate column for this.

This is apparently the softest approach to this question and we are confident this is good enough. If we come to the conclusion it's not enough, we raise the bar next year. But for 2023 all we do is asking developers to state where they think they contributed to the project.

One thing we would like to avoid is people feeling it's obvious they contributed a ton and they do not want to declare this themselves. It's important every writes a few items or the plan does not work and we need to become stricter. So please fill out said column.

Currency, paying

The official currency is the Hungarian Forint (HUF). Actually (2023.10.27) 1 EURO is 382 HUF.

Although the EURO is accepted in most places, please DO NOT PAY WITH EURO (neither card nor cash). The exchange rates of shops are very bad. If your card/account allows, please open a HUF account and use your card. Visa and MC cards are allowed, Revolut and Wise are very popular here and also allowed.
