Wait what? Since when does MCServer use bitcoins? And since when do people HAVE to donate so the development continues?

It doesn't. It's a service that runs on top of github and rewards contributors for commits. If you commit, you get paid, and it's an easy way to give money to open source projects you like.

I don't think so unfortunately. Hopefully they'll change it soon.

I believe it applies to all commits that make it to the master, which means those in approved PRs, too. It wouldn't make sense otherwise, because normal projects work by PRs only.

You can check the address on blockchain.info but addresses are sortof anonymous so IDK.
