Privacy Policy

As of Debatekeeper version 1.3 (October 2021), the Debatekeeper app does not collect any data about users whatsoever.

• There is no user analytics software in the app. This means I have no idea what features, formats or settings get used, not even in aggregate.
• When you access the downloads screen in the app, your device will retrieve a list from the official online formats repository (unless you've changed the repository location in the advanced settings in the app). When your device retrieves this list or downloads any formats, it does not send any personal information about you (that I know of*). Currently, this repository is hosted on GitHub, and served via GitHub Pages. There is no analytics software in this setup (that I know of†), so I have no idea how often the list is retrieved or what formats get downloaded the most, not even in aggregate.
• However, Google Play does collect some basic statistics about app users, like it does for all apps, and I do look at those statistics from time to time. You can learn more about this in Google Play's documentation on app statistics. Also, if Debatekeeper crashes and you submit an error report, that also comes via Google Play.

Because I'm no longer actively developing this app, it's unlikely that this policy will change in the future. If it changes, I'll include a note in the changelog (which shows after the app updates) about it. If I need to update this information to reflect things I've learnt, but without an app update, there won't be a way to notify you (other than updating this page), sorry.

This is a bit of an anticlimactic privacy policy, sorry. The main purpose of this page is to fulfil Google Play Store requirements.
