Load From File

Load From File

One of the most commonly used (and one of the most irritating) things while windchill configuration/customization is Load From File mechanism. It would be handy to be able to import files stored in the repository with one click, and here you have it!

Prerequisites

You should have configured plugin (with addon), to see how to, please follow Configuration page.

How to use it

lff

You can select multiple folders/files which will be loaded, there is no restriction about an extension. So be careful, it is possible to launch LoadFromFile on .exe file.

lff

This dialog is designed to mark files to be loaded via LoadFromFile.

Pre run configuration

This plugin will not copy files for you. If you want to have files copied to the specified location, you can choose the run configuration which will do that for you. A good option to accomplish that is to run an ANT script. But that is up to you, there was no point in implementing a copy mechanism because every Windchill project follows a different way of organizing files.

It is important to mention that LoadFromFile will be performed AFTER termination of selected run configuration. Termination means successfully finished action or manual kill of process.

Since there is a variety of possible types of run configurations, there is no way to define a single "fail-safe" mechanism. So if your configuration will fail, default to selected run configuration path will be done.

Load File selection

From the initial pool of files, you can limit files to be loaded by select / unselect files from the list. Only selected files will be loaded.
