Issues with new alias/implication request forms #850
Comments
i also noticed that after submitting the request forum #9112, when i clicked the antecedent (5 posts) tag it goes directly to the consequent (2 posts). when i use tag search it also goes directly to the consequent posts and i can no longer view the 5 antecedent posts. but post #1367529 still retains the antecedent tag on its tag list. also, it might be useful to have a preview option beside submit to check if the links are working before sending. Edit: somehow after i edited the request to include Edit2: the link oddities are still experienced in alias #10450, alias #10439 and alias #10446 among others where there appears nothing anymore. |
The job workers were down which was causing the cache expiration calls to not propagate. Annoying. In the future, if you see inconsistent pages like this you can explicitly go to sonohara.donmai.us or hijiribe.donmai.us to directly access one of the servers. If the pages are inconsistent, chances are it's some sort of caching issue. |
In any case I'll add the create alias/implication syntax and links to the wiki. |
If spaces are used in the antecedent/consequent tag names instead of underscores, they should be converted to underscores. Example: alias 10449. In that test, I used underscores for "test_antecedent_tag" and spaces for "test consequent tag". The latter should have underscores, but has the spaces I typed instead.
The forum thread automatically generated currently contains only the user's reason and a link to the alias. It should also include links to the two tags' wikis, as those are convenient and always seem to have been included up until now. It should look something like this and be at the beginning of the post:
Aliasing [[antecedent_tag]] -> [[consequent_tag]].
