Article number no longer displayed in Compact view

After the 4.15.0 update, it appears the article number (1, 2, etc) has been removed from Compact view. Switching to Full view re-introduces the number, however I prefer Compact view due to its lack of thumbnail (it's hn, after all). Octal is the only infinite scrolling app I use on my phone, so the article number helps me to know when I've been using the app long enough and should do something else. Any chance of reintroducing the article number in Compact view?

Fully agreed. I've been (subconsciously) relying on the article numbers to Compact view and it would be great to bring them back.
