Couple options if we don't want to manually stumble through all the differences:

OpenForge

BabelExt

hi, arrived via the @ mention ;-)

just FYI I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about BabelExt. My free time to maintain it has been somewhat less than I'd like, but I would love for it to get a bit more use and get some real feedback on it. I'm open to improving it, of course, and happy to answer questions / make specific fixes/updates should you choose to use it.

Sounds good. We're not yet focused on the firefox port since we want the codebase to be a bit more advanced before porting it (we're getting close), even refactor a bit before doing the port.

We will review the projects you propose as well as check how other projects like cryptocat are doing for cross-browser support too. If we can we surely prefer using some layer like BabelExt that would make things less dw specific.

Don't forget Mailvelope. That's a great example of a cross-browser add-on done in JS.
