Please sketch any new designs prior to creating production pieces in Illustrator.
Graphics Considerations:
Broadly speaking, with animation everything that moves or can be influenced by movement should be on a separate layer.
Move these illustration onto a 1024*1024px artboard centrally aligned all elements within Video Safe guides.
Expanded Strokes additional Body elements / accessories. Where possible preserve these original strokes in a Hidden separate layer.
General layer and sublayer cleanup ie:
Arms and legs should be Stroke paths kept separate from the main body or hand elements. All these elements will be replaced in After effects to allow for animation so ensure that hands and feet aren't attached.
Aim to keep a minimal vertices count and avoid vectorised elements using image trace.
Stakey is to appear with a “front” perspective. No “side-on” Stakey’s here.
Character Factory:
This isn't necessarily a requirement, but it would help streamline production:
Hands, Feet and Facial expressions change often. If the dimensions to these elements are all the same (for example 124*124px) created in a separate artboard then this would allow me to swap these elements out more effectively making for convincing characters. Over time the library of these elements would grow allowing turnaround of new animated Stakey's to be faster.
