## About Politeia

Decred is an autonomous digital currency. With a hybrid consensus system, it is built to be a decentralized, sustainable, and self-ruling currency where stakeholders make the rules.
Politeia is Decred's proposal system. It is used to request funding from the
Decred treasury. Anyone can submit a proposal to Politeia. The Decred
stakeholders vote on whether to fund or reject the proposal.

Politeia was built around the concept of cryptographic auditability. All data
saved to Politeia is accompanied by cryptographic proof of who, what, and when.
