The firmware in this repository is used in several hardware projects. Of course, most notably we have the mcHF QRP Transceiver by Chris, M0NKA, which is the starting point for this firmware development effort, but over time different hardware platforms have emerged to use the rich firmware. This page is supposed to list all known hardware which runs the firmware.

If you have not yet listed hardware using the firmware, feel free to add it to this page following the template or let us know whether we should do it.

Please visit the hardware designers' websites (if available) or get otherwise in touch with them to get informed about conditions of use for their hardware designs and design documents!

mcHF QRP Transceiver

Designed by: Chris, M0NKA
Design goal: A mega cheap High Frequency (mcHF) standalone QRP SDR Transceiver
General data: MCU: STM32F4xx, RX sens.: -126dBm/300Hz, TX out.power: 5W
Mechanical design: up to 0.6 2 PCBs stacked, 0.7 3 PCBs stacked
Supported version: 0.4 - 0.7; 0.8 uses a two processor design not supported by UHSDR firmware More information: http://www.m0nka.co.uk/
Schematics: Published, see link above
PCB: Copyrighted by M0NKA, can be bought from M0NKA only
Kits: Can be bought from M0NKA only
Complete devices: No. M0NKA does not sell these. Some hams build a mcHF for you and will use the PCB / Kits from M0NKA. But pay attention: there are/have been clones with inferior quality being sold on eBay or Amazon: Do not buy these.

Not much needs to be said about the mcHF here!

MiniTRX

Designed by: Helmut, OE3HKC
Design goal: Small QRP SDR, compact and very low power consumption.
General data: MCU: STM32F4xx, TX out.power: 3W
Mechanical design: 4 PCBs in stack
More information: https://www.amateurfunk-sulingen.de/forum/index.php?board=15;action=display;threadid=747
Schematics: Published, see thread linked above
PCB: Not for sale, please contact OE3HKC
Kits: No
Complete devices: No

The MiniTRX is mostly software compatible with the mcHF but uses only 7.4V input voltage and consequently also a different PA stage with 3W PEP max. It has a different form factor including some interesting details like a speaker connected to the back of front PCB.

OVI40 UI

Designed by: developer team at Amateurfunk Sulingen OV I40
Design goal: powerful standalone SDR for 2200m...4m, designed for usage of STM32F7, ~60W RF output
General data: MCU: STM32H743 (400Mhz) or STM32F767, 216Mhz
Mechanical design: Stacked PCB
More information: The project still is under development. The UI is ready, can be used with mcHF RF 0.4 - 0.6 boards, RF parts will follow soon. Please stay tuned and watch OVI40 pages
Schematics: Published for UI board under CERN OHL1.2, see OVI40 pages
PCB: UI: available see Order page
Kits: UI kits: available see Order page
Complete devices: Will be available

OVI40 will be a powerful standalone SDR. It will be based on DDCDUC concepts for HF. You will find information on the Project Page of OV I40 (see link above) at given time. For now, have a look at the forum.

TRX SDR Eagle

Designed by: Artur, SP3OSJ
Design goal: very small TRX SDR, compact and very low power consumption.
General data: MCU: STM32F4xx, RX sens.: -132dBm/300Hz TX out. power max: 20W -> all bands 3,5-28MHz
Mechanical design: 2 PCBs in stack
More information: http://www.sp3osj.pl
Schematics: Published, see thread linked above
PCB: yes, please contact: SP3OSJ
Case: yes,
Kits: no,
Complete devices: No.

mcHF Autotuner add-on board by Alexey UT0UM

  • This internal automatic antenna tuner is designed specifically for mcHF SDR radio.
  • low profile and fits well in Chinese case for mcHF SDR radio.
  • Due to use of latching relays, the autotuner consumes energy only at the time of tuning. Power consumption of is about 35 mA for 5V. After completing the tuning process, the autotuner turns off. UT0UM Autotuner
