Why not just whichever was the user booted into to get into the CFW first of all

Only Mii Maker has SD access from all the default system apps. Mocha boots in Mii Maker. So I am not sure what this issue is about.

if you dont have a user profile set to auto boot(this is what your nnid is linked to) you would need to pick the correct profile to ensure you have your apps and save data.
what he means is his user profile is not the default(or something like that) so that when the cfw launches its on the wrong profile and he has to sign out then sign back in, despite saying mii in it its not about mii maker, rather the profile selection.

Isn't that something that can be configured on the system menu? My redNAND always boots to that screen even though i don't want it to boot to that screen. I will take a look at it but it is low priority in my opinion.

@yoshisman8 do you use a password for you account?

Edit: Misread the prompt, it is possible to auto login on a legit Wii U, just tap on you Mii icon and scroll down until you see "Make this the default user?".
