What is CAP?

CAP is a set of IDL-programming-language(c) tools, developed to process continuum cross-scans (FITS files) acquired on point-like sources with the Italian radiotelescopes, when used in single-dish mode by means of the DISCOS system.

This pipeline allows the user to:

  1. rearrange the date-based datasets, separating acquisition in frequency-based folders
  2. visually inspect and flag the data (optional)
  3. estimate the atmospheric opacity via the observed "skydips" (optional)
  4. retrieve the proper calibration factors from cross-scans acquired on flux density calibrators
  5. integrate scans on the target sources and obtain flux density measurements, taking into account both the atmospheric opacity (if provided) and the antenna gain curve
  6. reprocess the measurement list and average measurements recorded in different takes (optional)
  7. plot the raw and integrated scans
