Send log to developers

When c:geo crashed, is good idea to send a log to developer. Log often contains important information about reason of that crash. And then it can be fixed so it won't crash any more.

What to do when you want to help? Install to you phone application Log Collector or aLogcat. Both are for free on Android Market. Log Collector is easier to use, however both programs generate large emails. If maximum length of email is set in your email client sending log directly does not help. In that case you need to save log with aLogCat and send log as attachment.

In normal mode c:geo is not storing as many debug logs, therefore before you send log you should to go to the settings in c:geo and enable the debug logging (you will find it at the very bottom of the setting screen). On some devices GPS library writes tons of data into log. This data might sometimes overrwite c:geo log so it's recomended to disable GPS for the time of sending logs if possible.

After that keep one of log application in menu and when c:geo crashes, run log application as soon as possible and use it to send a log to e-mail support [at] cgeo.org. On the top of email please include a quick note what were you doing and what was wrong with c:geo.

If you are done with getting the log you may switch of the debug logging.

note: Logs you sent to developer will not be archived, published, redistributed... or anything else. Just read by developer and then erased.
