The X Window System comes with a pretty good assortment of bitmap fonts. I like the monospace fonts for coding sometimes, so here they are in TrueType.
I do not take credit for the fonts, only for the scripts that convert them to TrueType fonts that work well on your system.
This includes:
- Lucida Typewriter
- DEC Terminal
- Misc Fixed (6x13, 10x20, and all the others)
- Sony bitmap fonts
Each font has a certain pixel size. For each font you have to specify a certain font size if you want to achieve pixel perfection.
On Windows systems, you almost always specify the point size. Consult the "Point Size" column below.
On macOS systems, you almost always specify the pixel size. Consult the "Pixel Size" column below.
