In the course of testing the Prototype Coat Rack dwyl/home#194 I stress-tested the "V.3" coat hooks by simulating someone hanging off them and managed to break them: dwyl/home#194

broken-hook

So I'm making the hooks a sidequest in their own right as they are actually the most difficult part of making a coat rack.

Todo

  • Create a V.4 design
  • Laser-cut 2 instances for stress testing.
  • Do a "Hang Test" with the V.4 design

V.4 design ready:

included the v3 hook on the left for comparison.
increased the width of the "spine" by 75% which strengthens both the top and bottom hooks.

stress-tested the hook with as much strength as I could. Pass. ☑️

30 of these V4 hooks are now in "Production" in the house and in active use/testing.
Closing. We can revisit after they have have been extensively tested in the real world.
