System Settings

Vinzenz Rosenkranz edited this page Dec 14, 2018 · 2 revisions

This menu is part of the Settings Menu and is accessed via the menu in the upper right corner of the UI. Here users (Admins) can change some of the default settings to the needs of the users. Admins can also decide whether settings should be overwritable by users (e.g. language by default) or not (e.g. loaded plugins and project name by default).

Overwritable settings can be changed by all users for their session in the user menu. If a user does not overwrite a setting, the one from the system settings is used.

Language

The language can be set to any ISO 639-1 Code you want. But: If this language is not supported by Spacialist, it defaults to english. If you want to help translating Spacialist to another language, checkout resources/js/i18n.

Resize the three main columns

The width of the main columns can be adjusted to match your requirements. There is only one restriction: The sum of all three columns must not exceed 12. Otherwise the UI would be broken. The defaults are 2, 5, 5.

Enable/disable plug-ins

Spacialist can be extended by so-called plugins. A list of available/installed plugins can be found in the settings. To enable a plugin, check the box next to it's name. To disable an enabled plugin, uncheck it.

Thesaurus/ThesauRex

Spacialist requires a controlled vocabulary. ThesauRex is a tool developed to work with Spacialist. In the system settings it is possible to add a link (absolute or relative) to your ThesauRex instance or any other SKOS-Tool.

Project Info

By default the name Spacialist is shown in the upper left corner of the UI. Users (we recommend to not check Allow overwrite? for these settings) can replace it with their project name. It is also possible to add a welcome page with some information about the project (who is responsible, project description) and whether the site should be accessible by guests or only registered users.
