zap2epg - xmltv grabber for USA and Canada

The zap2epg addon was designed to use the new zap2it website listings data to create an xmltv.xml file for use in your personal epg setup. It was originally intended to be used with the tvheadend backend but is capable of being run without tvheadend or even without kodi. Configuration is done through the addon in kodi (can be done manually) and it installs a grabber to be used in the tvheadend system. This way the xmltv.xml file can be easily updated through cron.

zap2epg can be used for Over-the-Air (OTA/Antenna), cable and satellite lineups in the USA and Canada. It contains the following options:

• create a channel list to limit the amount of data downloaded
• set the number of days to download
• choose the type of program icon to include (episode, series, none)
• download extra details (adds original air date and genres)
• append information to the plot description (useful for skins that show limited information)
• enable/disable tvheadend backend acccess
• if using tvheadend, option to append the service name (allows tvheadend to auto-match the epg source to the channel)
