Hi πŸ‘‹, I'm Ted

I'm a DevOps/SRE/Infrastructure Engineer and former Naval officer.

AWS Cloud Practitioner AWS Cloud Developer

  • 🌱 I'm currently learning: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Cloudformation/CDK/IAC/Terraform.

  • πŸ‘― I’m looking to collaborate on - any technology here, but especially any project where you're needing more robust capabilities or uptime. A good example that I've been thinking about a lot: helping someone see some better ways to handle a Lemmy instance, for example, or any other 'interesting idea with surprising uptime requirements.' Let's DevOpserize it. ♾️ :shipit:

  • πŸ’¬ Ask me about...building, deploying, and maintaining your projects. Or any technology here - I tend to be a mile wide and an inch deep but I'm always willing to help.

  • πŸ” I’m currently working on my personal website, fetchingly repositoried at https://github.com/edwardmccormick/vanity-website. It's vanilla, static HTML pages, so I made it serverless, but in the process I wanted to enable the 'contact me' functionality, so there's also a serverless API Gateway fronting an AWS Lambda hooked up to AWS Simple Email Service. And then, like a right proper DevOps, I created an automatic build and deploy pipeline, and I'm currently casting about for automated testing. Just wait until I blue/green this sucker (and I'm only, like, 65% kidding). It's not quite 'ready for primetime' but I've been putting a lot of work into it (I had no idea that the Bootstrap -> Tailwind conversion would be so painful). Overall, it works like it was put together by a boot camp graduate and is styled like a mid-career DevOps did it. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†
