Original comment by @liza-mae:

Kibana version: 6.2.2 BC1

Elasticsearch version: 6.2.2 BC1

Server OS version: Ubuntu tar

Browser version: Chrome latest

Browser OS version: OSX

Original install method (e.g. download page, yum, from source, etc.):
From staging

Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior:

Time picker does not save value when switching to another link

Steps to reproduce:

Install Elasticsearch, Kibana and APM
Import APM data
Go to APM
Click on time picker set to: Last 1 Year
Go to Dashboard
Go back to APM
Notice the time picker is no longer on Last 1 Year

I could reproduce this in 6.4.0 the problem seems to be that the APM UI always sets the time picker to 24 hours

From the Kibana team:

not possible. there is no shared time range state between apps. That's also why the build in apps don't transfer their time state when switching (e.g. if you switch from visualize to timelion, you will see that the state will be lost)
in fact visualize/discover/management are all in the same app (kibana) why they share the state

We should wait for the new Timepicker plugin and see if that resolves: #18845
