The current code list devices under
/sys/class/video4linux
, however some other devices (such as my touchpad) appear there. By using Gst.DeviceMonitor we can filter only devices that have thevideo/x-raw
capability, resulting in simpler code and better detection (at least in my setup). This could also pave the path for implementing #59 and #41 , since we could add a watch to detect when new devices are added or removed and update the GUI and camera_view appropriately.
