Installation Instructions

  • Download the "Antecedent.Precipitation.Tool.7z" file from the link below.
  • Use 7zip to extract the 'Antecedent Precipitation Tool' folder.
  • You may need to work with your information technology (IT) department to install the software properly.
  • Run main_ex.exe within the 'Antecedent Precipitation Tool' folder to begin the installation process. Running the executable will also create an Antecedent Precipitation Tool.lnk file on your Desktop that you can now use as a Desktop shortcut.

USACE STAFF - DO NOT EXTRACT DIRECTLY TO "C:" - Users have reported that doing so causes the tool to require Administrator Privileges in order to run. It is recommended that extracting to "C:/Documents" avoids the Administrator Privileges problem and keeps your desktop clean.

General Notes

  • Moving the install folder will make the Desktop shortcut cease to function.
  • Run main_ex.exe again to correct the problem.
  • Accepting the ULA at each launch was a design requirement.

Release Notes

  • A special thanks to all of our alpha testers throughout USACE including Adam White and Dave Knepper.
  • The changes from version 1.0.23 to version 2.0.0 include:

    • Updated user and technical guide to reflect incorporation of the nClimGrid-Daily data into the APT.
    • Addressed issue with batch processing that was limiting the use of appropriate station data during station-based APT analyses.
    • Addressed issue with sizing of station table in pdf outputs when using large numbers of stations in a station-based APT analysis.
    • Addressed issue with interpolation algorithm that fills data gaps in a station-based APT analysis.
    • Updated the URL to access WebWIMP data.
