Describe the bug
The clipboard backend does not work correctly on Gedit (Linux). The trigger is deleted, but the replacement is empty

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open gedit
  2. Trigger anything that goes through the clipboard backend (such as an emoji replacement)

It seems that the new backend with clip doesn't play well with gedit, but xclip seems to be compatible.

So we might create an alternative clipboard backend for x11 using xclip
