It might be necessary to execute the installer multiple times (and do a reboot each time - or re-login) to have the product installed. This is due to the fact that this installer is released also as a way to allow older versions to be uninstalled. This will not be the case in later releases. If everything goes as planned, you should be able to see the version number on the application main window; similar to the following screenshot:
