Here is a video that shows the bug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZY-I7SswCs
It is unusable. It has ALWAYS worked, but maybe something in updates has broken struff.
I use ArchLinux.

This bug report in Carla is what happens in Catia too: falkTX/Carla#1552
I tried to fork Catia and modify the code like here but I still have the bug, so it does not help.

I find it weird that two very similar softwares (Carla and Catia) have the same bug at the same time (this report is 14 days ago, which was more or less the same period I encoutered the bug in Catia). So I think they are in some way related. Also @Skrappjaw (the guy that reported Carla bug) uses Garuda, I use ArchLinux, so I think that since these are bleeding edge distros, it must be an update of some package that caused the issue. I also tried downgrading pipewire, but it does not fix. I don't really know what could have caused the issue. Any suggestion about any package that may have caused this issue? I can try to downgrade it and see if it fix.

is this under jack2 or pipewire?
if it happens on pipewire but not in jack2, assume it is pipewire bug.

Garuda has the option to disable pipewire and use pulse/jack/alsa. But I don't think it does completely. If you attempt to remove the pipewire packages Octopi lists a plethora of other system packages to be removed also. Pipewire is pretty well embedded in the os.

I downgraded some python3 packages (look this) and now the issue is gone. Why?

I have pipewire. I have starting to have this issue only two weeks ago, and I downgraded pipewire to older versions (months ago), but the bug is still there. So I don't think this is a pipewire bug. I have to try to boot into a live usb of some distro which has not pipewire

Now on Carla the problem is gone. With Catia, the bug is still there and it's not usable, even if I use the same Carla's patch: All3xJ@cef6c10

I can confirm this, I also have this issue, when I drag a block It will teleport far away.
And this also happens on Carla but still usable, I think a quick fix to this would be to limit the size of the canvas?
OS: Manjaro Linux (Arch Based Distro)

Update: now on Carla, in patchcanvas, I can't see the input and output devices.... I can only see these and they don't seem to be useful:

UPDATE:
I fixed by going to settings, and set Audio driver: "JACK", and Process mode: "Multiple Clients". After that, restart Carla and works. At least I can share the audio using Carla, since Catia is still broken.

Since Carla uses the same canvas engine, I'm gonna mention this here: If I try to drag more than one element at the same time there, those elements will get pushed to the top left corner the moment I let lose the left mouse button as well (but at least not that far, unlike in Catia)
