Mac OS - Version 4.6.1 suddenly not seeing plugins [SOLVED] #358
Comments
you are second one reporting same issue. I would try delete "AppData" folder, which is not removed with reinstallation itself Unfortunately I don't have Mac available at the moment. btw did you run just legacy (4.x) client or did you tries new client (5.x) ? I thinking about interaction between it. |
Hi Farin
I spoke to a friend yesterday who is a coder and he fixed the issue for me. We typed the following into Terminal:
ls -ld ~/Documents/JCloisterZone
ls -l ~/Documents/JCloisterZone
This came back as:
drwxrwxrwx@ 7 sarahward staff 224 29 Dec 18:16 /Users/sarahward/Documents/JCloisterZone
total 15256
-rwxrwxrwx@ 1 sarahward staff 7800966 2 Jun 2020 JCloisterZone.jar
-rw-r--r--@ 1 sarahward staff 2986 29 Dec 16:36 config.yaml
-rw-r--r--@ 1 sarahward staff 2489 29 Dec 18:39 error.log
drwxrwxrwx 9 sarahward staff 288 2 Jun 2020 plugins
We then typed in:
chmod 755 ~/Documents/JCloisterZone ~/Documents/JCloisterZone/plugins ~/Documents/JCloisterZone/JCloisterZone.jar
chmod 644 ~/Documents/JCloisterZone/plugins/*.jar
xattr -r -c ~/Documents/JCloisterZone
It came back with:
drwxr-xr-x@ 7 sarahward staff 224 29 Dec 18:16 /Users/sarahward/Documents/JCloisterZone
total 15256
-rwxr-xr-x@ 1 sarahward staff 7800966 2 Jun 2020 JCloisterZone.jar
-rw-r--r--@ 1 sarahward staff 2986 29 Dec 16:36 config.yaml
-rw-r--r--@ 1 sarahward staff 2489 29 Dec 18:39 error.log
drwxr-xr-x 9 sarahward staff 288 2 Jun 2020 plugins
This seemed to fix it. I don’t know what any of the above means but hopefully it will help you understand what’s going on!
Thanks
S

It sound like some Mac OS update?
I would try delete "AppData" folder, which is not removed with reinstallation itself
You should find it under ~/Library/ , so try to delete ~/Library/JCloisterZone
Unfortunately I don't have Mac available at the moment.

Sarahs2020iMac:~ sarahward$ xattr /Users/sarahward/Documents/JCloisterZone/plugins
com.apple.quarantine
Sarahs2020iMac:~ sarahward$
Sarahs2020iMac:~ sarahward$ xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Users/sarahward/Documents/JCloisterZone
Sarahs2020iMac:~ sarahward$ xattr /Users/sarahward/Documents/JCloisterZone/plugins
Sarahs2020iMac:~ sarahward$

Hi
Apologies I know zero about code but I'm hoping someone can help. I've been playing version 4.6.1 since the summer with no problems but suddenly it won't launch a game. I get an error log which starts:
Cannot read plugin directory
java.nio.file.FileSystemException:
I have deleted and re-installed Java and JCloisterZone but no luck. I am on a Mac OS 10.15.7
Any help much appreciated!
