I found a few problems with this issue:

yarn install warning Error running install script for optional dependency: "/Users/code/Documents/GitHub/mbakeWebAdmin/node_modules/grpc: Command failed. |
This will allow Node.js v12 users to install the firebase package. Fixes firebase#1738

I have the same issue, exactly same error log as above. |
Yup someone should bump grpc version. Meanwhile |
I tried resolutions and could not get it to work. Does someone have a working resolutions? |
@cekvenich I'm using lerna in monorepo setup I have added.
And for good measure went to |
We update the deps automatically every Friday, so it should be picked up tomorrow. The release for next week has already been decided, so the fix for this will be part of the release 2 weeks from now. |
@Feiyang1 So what should Google FireBase customers do for 2 weeks? That resolution thing above did not work, but monkey patching does work - or just fork this and do an npm publish of the fork? |
Sorry for the inconvenience. Once the grpc version is updated (tomorrow), you can use the canary build to get it. I will make an additional release next week, so you don't need to wait for 2 weeks. |
@Feiyang1 I think that is a better, for a popular commercial project by Google. |
Feiyang1, would you please let me know how I can use your suggested solution/workaround with the canary build? Would be very helpful, cannot wait two weeks. Thanks. |
@bastosboi use |
I can verify that "firebase": ">=6.0.2-0", |
FB just did a release today and it still does not work w/ node v12. I have 40 packages and 10 are native and only Google is the one that does not work w/ node v12.
You need to bump grpc-node module to new version.
