Download and Flashing instructions

The FirePi.img tar.gz file can be downloaded from here. Once downloaded it can be extracted into the directory of your choice. This can usually be done in linux by right clicking on the tar.gz file and selecting extract here. If that is not supported on your linux OS you may type sudo tar xvzf FirePi.img.tar.gz
and that will extract it into your current directory.
There are two ways you can install FirePi.img onto your SD card:
- Graphical Interface
- Command Line
For general use I would recommend the Graphical interface. If you are using Ubuntu there is already a graphical interface installed for this task. For the purposes of this tutorial, Ubuntu is used here.

- Open up the Disk program in Ubuntu or your Debian OS by either searching for it in the unity sidebar or by typing in a terminal session

- Once in the disks utility locate you SD card in the left-hand sidebar. your screen should look like this at this point:
