We should probably split this for BSD tar - I'm pretty sure that doesn't support long options.

Anyway, that's not new with this PR, so I'm merging this. Thanks!

Since I don't know much about bsdtar, I looked into it and bsdtar --xz -cf test.tar.xz test works fine on bsdtar 3.2.2 on my machine (Archlinux) and it's listed on its man page.
