4.4 troubleshooting HLS

General

• check in the network console whether the m3u8 playlist can be loaded, and that the included variant playlists (often called chunklists) exist and can be loaded.

• server side 302 redirects for the playlist or media files are not supported in most scenarios

• verify your stream has the correct EXIF tags and adheres to the specs. Please see the Apple HLS docs , especially the specs and the example m3u8

FlashHLS

• make sure the crossdomain.xml is available and set up correctly (see https://flowplayer.org/docs/setup.html#cross-domain )

• make sure the Flash flowplayerhls.swf is loaded, and delivered with the same protocol as the stream media files

hljs plugin

• check whether the CORS headers are set (see https://flowplayer.org/docs/plugins.html#hlsjs )
• verify the encoding of the media files (see https://github.com/flowplayer/flowplayer-hlsjs#known-issues-and-constraints )
• test your stream in the hls.js reference player
