May gerbers be released?

They should be easy to generate from the .lht files using pcb-rnd.

it is! ;) moreover, it is easy to make it from scratch in our favorite editor.

I guess that entry step can be a bit smoother for newbies.

On the other hand, there is a reason pcb-rnd has export targets for popular pcb maker, which result in slightly different gerbers (layer naming, etc). So by providing gerbers here, there would be an increased risk of the newbie using gerbers unsuitable for their pcb maker.

I see your point. No need to impose anything on anyone. let's not confuse them either.
I think we should explicitly state that the PCB design file is "*.lht" and it should be opened in geda/pcb-rnd of version xxx.

Another way is to generate gerbers in all suitable/useful profiles (actually 5) of pcb-rnd.

personally, it seems to me that the project is incomplete if I do not see some artifacts releases (binaries/gerbers/etc)

I've now put a note in the README, so those that just want to make a few boards are pointed to pcb-rnd and its export.
