DEPRESSURIZER IS DEPRECATED AND MAY BE REMOVED IN FUTURE, SEE #1030 FOR DETAILS

Depressurizer is a windows "Steam library categorizing tool" (see Project Page for details)

steamtinkerlaunch automates the whole (download/install/configuration/start) processes required to use the program under linux via Proton/Wine

A fully functional install requires DotNet to be installed.

Features/Options:

  • auto-download the latest release if not found locally or if auto-update (DPRSPAUTOUP) is enabled in the Global Menu
  • the newest exe version found in the download dir ( ~/.config/steamtinkerlaunch/downloads/depressurizer/) is always used automatically
  • configurable (Global Menu) own Compatdata (default in ~/.config/steamtinkerlaunch/depressurizer)
  • automatic installation of dotnet 4.8 via Steam First Time Setup packages using an own (bundled) iscriptevaluator set
  • individually configurable Proton Version in the Global Menu
  • option to symlink all required vdfs from the linux steam installation into the Depressurizer Compatdata directory (default is working with copies, in which case the original vdf files remain untouched - use symlinks at your own risk!)
  • can be started directly from Command Line
  • an initial setup launch needs below 30 seconds from scratch until the first program window

The Steam files copied/symlinked from the Steam installation are:

  • appcache/appinfo.vdf
  • appcache/packageinfo.vdf
  • userdata/$STEAMUSERID/7/remote/sharedconfig.vdf
  • userdata/$STEAMUSERID/760/screenshots.vdf
  • userdata/$STEAMUSERID/config/localconfig.vdf
  • userdata/$STEAMUSERID/config/shortcuts.vdf
