Using iOS 6.

Tapping outside of the selection doesn't seem to deselect it.

Thanks for reporting. Is the issue related to text selected inside a textarea or input field, or just any text on the page (e.g. text inside a p tag)?

That was quick! :)

It seems to be just text/elements on the page. Input text is deselecting correctly as far as I can tell.

Only trusted events will deselect text on iOS (fixes issue #49)
