What version of Android is required for the app?

I can't get "Barcode to PC" to work on my phone running Android 10, but at least it scans the barcode (it just doesn't go anywhere even though my PC on the same network is running the host software with an empty waiting field). I have two tablets running Android 4.4.4, and they get to the point of scanning a barcode, but then don't actually scan. I have tried my own 6-digit barcode and a retail 10-digit barcode.

I'm currently on the free version, but if I could get this to work, I would buy it.

did you install the server program on your computer? If yes, are you able to see the smartphone name when you click here? :

Then make you sure to enable the Keyboard Emulation option:

and if it still doesn't work run the server as administrator:
