On Ubuntu 14.04 with Ganglia 3.6.0-1ubuntu2 and Graphite 0.9.12-3, "graphite_path" in gmetad.conf is effectively non-functional as tested with "customer.gmetad", "customer.gmetad.%s", "customer.gmetad.%s.%h.%m". Running gmetad in debug

shows a "carbon forwarding ready to send..." on start and events are written to rrds, however only "unspecified" metrics are sent to carbon and I can't determine what these data are. Swapping out for "graphite_prefix customer.gmetad" works as expected.

packet captures and stack traces can be uploaded/linked if helpful.

If you can attach the packet captures and stack traces that would be helpful.
