It seems that when the release-v1.35 branch was created, the VERSION file was not updated accordingly. (cc @kris94)
Hence, this leads release of v1.35.1 to fail - ref https://concourse.ci.gardener.cloud/teams/gardener/pipelines/gardener-release-v1.35/jobs/release-v1.35-release-job/builds/1.
