Perhaps this doesn't need a revbump? Although it is changing the code, it is only preprocessor macros which will have halted the compile and if libgit2 is upgraded the dev-libs/libgit2:= will trigger a rebuild?

Yeah, doesn't look like revbump is needed here. Sounds like the package is large enough to "care" about it so please just patch the current ebuild without revbumping.
