The "Required Text" cannot be saved and is lost as soon as another widget is selected.

Hmmm. It works for me. Perhaps the repro is a bit more specific than that?

@issa-tseng thanks for the quick reply! Here's the troublemaker:

Track or Treat 0.35.odkbuild.zip

I can't seem to save a "Required Text" for e.g. /data/details/species or /data/nest/disturbed or any of the other fields.

All the failing fields are within groups. Outside groups, required text seems to stick.

* it's unclear to me how this value got the way it did, but at least we
  can do a simple safety guard and fix it for the future.
* resolves #190.

Thanks for the fix!

Looking at ODK Build running version 532f8f7, this bug still exists for one existing field:

Repro: enter required text for required field inside a group, select other field, select first field again, required text is gone.
Deleting and re-creating it, then adding required text works.

Update: required text sticks with other fields.

Overall, this seems to be resolved, many thanks! Improved forms, now with required text going out into the field next week.
